We are a small tour operator working within the District of San Roque De Cumbaza, Peru.
We offer accommodation at the Sachaqa Centro De Arte – ecoartist community. A five-minute walk from the village of San Roque. Sachaqa is based on the edge of the forest. We are visited most days by hummingbirds, dragonflies, Blue Morpho – butterflies, Toucans, squirrel monkeys and young boys selling oranges. You have to pass a horse to get through our gate and walk around the flowers and cocoa trees to get to your house. With artists painting in the studio and conversations at the dinner table it is not quite like anywhere else.
Although, if you are not quite ready for the full jungle experience we also offer accommodation in the village center, at Depura Selva Hostel.
Our Approach
We offer genuine Amazon experiences – welcome to the jungle! We strive to protect, share and preserve our ancient Peruvian indigenous heritage – exploring local traditions of the Quechua Lamista people. We are a group of artists, guides and environmentalists and of course, the protection of the Amazon is at the top of our list of priorities. If we can share with people how precious this region is, we can somehow work to protect the lungs of our planet – which we all know to be the Amazon Rain-forest.
